Billing - Trial, payment, plans, and cancellation
Vallo uses Stripe for billing. Here's everything about how charges, plans, and cancellation work.
Your free trial
Every Vallo account starts with a 7-day free trial. No credit card required to start.
What's included:
- Unlimited calls
- Full access to all features (dashboard, transfers, knowledge, voice options)
- Email and SMS notifications
- A dedicated Vallo phone number
What happens when the trial ends:
If you've added a payment method by the time the trial ends, your subscription auto-converts to your selected plan and you're billed for the next month.
If you haven't added a payment method, your subscription enters a past due state. Vallo keeps answering calls for a short grace period while Stripe retries to bill you. After that, your account may be canceled.
Vallo emails you a few days before your trial expires reminding you to add a card.
Adding and managing your payment method
To add a card
- Go to Dashboard → Billing
- Click Add Payment Method
- A Stripe form appears in your browser. Enter your card details and click Save.
- You'll be redirected back to Vallo with a "Payment method saved" confirmation.
You can add a card any time during your trial. You won't be charged until the trial ends — adding it early just guarantees uninterrupted service.
To update or remove a card
- Dashboard → Billing → Manage payment methods
- Update card details, add an additional card, or delete an existing one.
If you delete your only card and your trial has ended, your subscription enters past due and Vallo will retry billing for a few weeks before canceling.
What gets charged
- Monthly subscription — your plan's base price, billed at the start of each month
- Overage — if you have a per-call plan and exceed included calls, you're billed for the extra at your plan's per-call rate
You can see all charges, past and upcoming, in Dashboard → Billing → Invoices.
If a payment fails
Stripe retries automatically over several weeks. You'll get an email each time. Update your card under Manage payment methods to fix it. Once you do, Vallo automatically retries the most recent failed invoice.
Switching plans
- Dashboard → Billing → Plans
- See your current plan and all available plans
- Click Switch to this plan on the one you want
- Stripe pro-rates the change — you'll see the adjustment on your next invoice
You need an active payment method to switch plans. Trial users have to add a card first.
Viewing invoices
Dashboard → Billing → Invoices lists everything Stripe has billed you for, with:
- Date
- Amount
- Status (paid / open / failed)
- PDF download
Click any invoice to download a PDF receipt.
Canceling your subscription
- Dashboard → Billing → Cancel subscription
- Confirm the cancellation
- Your subscription stays active until the end of your current billing period — you keep getting calls answered until then
- If you change your mind, click Reactivate before the period ends to undo
After cancellation, your account is preserved (you can log in, see past calls) but Vallo stops answering new calls. Your phone number is held for 30 days in case you want to come back, then released.
